Students from Bright Horizons Day Care and from Detroit's Central High School, and employees of Compuware and Quicken Loans started painting a mural Thursday at Compuware's headquarters at Campus Martius in downtown Detroit.
Under the direction of artists Halima Cassells of the Detroit Mural Factory and Chazz Miller of Public ArtWorkz, participants will create a 500-square-foot artwork that will be installed in the employee entrance to the building.
This project is led by Megan Heeres, curator for public art and gardens at Compuware.
Public ArtWorkz is a nonprofit that works to fight blight through public art.
The Detroit Mural Factory is a consortium of artists dedicated to uplifting Detroit through public art and murals.
